Gymnastics Ireland will run the annual GymSTART (Floor & Vault) Competition in the Sports Arena at the University of Limerick (Eircode: V94XT66) on the weekend of Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th November 2025.
Gymnastics Ireland will not be able to provide specific information about which day or the times until after they have received the entries from the clubs around the country. As soon as we receive this information (in early November), we will circulate it to you.
Gymnasts who are in 1st class or over in our 1-hour recreational classes, Rec+, JumpSTART and Teen classes are welcome to compete if the coach agrees that they are able.
Gymnasts compete individually and are required to perform a floor routine and a vault. Boys and girls may compete and there are a lot of different levels. The gymnasts will practice the routine and vault in their weekly class in September so that they know what is involved.
If a gymnast wishes to take part, their parent/guardian must:
- Complete this online form by 8pm on Friday 10th October 2025 .
- Pay the €70 entry fee either with cash or by bank transfer by Friday 10th October 2025. Please note that the entry fee is non-refundable. [IBAN: IE03AIBK93012112896033; Swift/BIC: AIBKIE2D; please put child’s name(s) against the payment].
October 10th is the deadline for entries. We cannot accept entries after October 10th.
All of the gymnasts taking part must attend GymSTART Training on the following dates.
- Sunday 12th October: 10.00am-12.00pm (ALL GYMNASTS).
- Sundays 19th October, 2nd November, 9th November, 16th November & 23rd November: Times will be confirmed when we know how many will be taking part.
- The GymSTART training fee is €90. This can also be paid with cash or by bank transfer.
The gymnasts will wear the Salto club kit for the competition. For information about the club kit, check out our website www.saltocork.ie
Parents/guardians are required to travel to Limerick with their child(ren). Coaches will be in attendance on the day but will only be responsible for the gymnasts during their competition rotation time.
We would definitely recommend this event as a great experience outside of the club.
We will hold our annual club competition on Sunday 29th March 2026 (date subject to change) and all of our gymnasts are welcome to take part. If gymnasts are unable to travel to Limerick, they can look forward to this instead.
