There are some spaces for new members in our GymABLE and Special Olympics classes which will take place on Monday afternoons. The classes will commence on Monday 5th September.

The Special Olympics classes are Rhythmic Gymnastics classes. Rhythmic gymnastics is a sport that combines elements of ballet, gymnastics and apparatus manipulation. The hand apparatus used are: rope, hoop, ball, clubs and ribbon. This class is for girls and boys from 5 to 12 years with an intellectual disability.

GymABLE is an inclusive gymnastics programme targeted at providing gymnastics opportunities for people with disabilities. Our classes are for girls and boys from 5 to 12 years with an intellectual and/or physical disability.

We are delighted to have some spaces available for new children to join Salto Gymnastics & Trampolining, Units 8 & 9, Ballinacurra Business Park, Midleton, Co Cork. See our list of primary school classes below and whether they are fully booked or how many spaces are available.

The enrolment fee for 2022/23 is €70 (this covers membership of Salto Gymnastics, affiliation to Gymnastics Ireland and insurance). The fee for the first term of 12 weeks is €120 (this is for a one-hour class per week for 12 weeks). We will run 3 terms between September 2022 and June 2023.

Children must be at least 5 years old to join.

Please note that the spaces are likely to fill very quickly and we may not be able to accommodate everyone who would like to join. Applications will be taken on a first come first served basis. Please don’t send multiple emails.

Our current members will receive an email today about booking in for September so please keep an eye out for that. You will need to confirm your child’s return by 18th July or we will take it that they aren’t returning and open their place for someone new.

We’re looking forward to heading up to the Gymnastics Ireland performance event on Sunday. 16 teams from around Ireland will be performing on the day.

The team representing Salto this year are: Isabelle Barrett, Katie Dee, Amelia Hugh-Jones, Olivia Jancik, Jenny Kirby, Sophie Mallon, Ciara O’Mahoney, Sarah Perry, Isabella Pranga, Cate Shanahan, Louise Turvey & Lily Mai Wrafter.

The camps are open to members and non-members so come along and join the fun!

Our SUMMER CAMPS will take place on the following dates:

• CAMP 1: Monday 18th to Friday 22nd July (5 days), 10am-2pm daily, €120 – Open to girls & boys age 5-12 yrs ** NOW FULLY BOOKED **
• CAMP 2: Monday 25th to Friday 29th July (5 days), 10am-2pm daily, €120 – Open to girls & boys age 5-12 yrs ** NOW FULLY BOOKED **

Members can make a booking via the LoveAdmin app. If you click on “classes” you will see a list of the camps. You can just click on your preferred camp to make a booking. If the camp is fully booked it will no longer be possible to make a booking. Payments for the camps will be taken via LoveAdmin only.

SALTO GYMNASTICS & TRAMPOLINING

We have some spaces in our competitive trampolining programme for boys and girls who were born in 2015, 2016 and 2017.

TRY-OUTS WILL TAKE PLACE ON SUNDAY 29 MAY AT 2.00-3.30PM.

The entry fee for the try-out is €10 which must be paid on the day. 

The try-outs are open to members and non-members and will take place at Salto Gymnastics, Units 8 & 9, Ballinacurra Business Park, Midleton, Co Cork.

Please note places in our competitive programme are limited. Unfortunately, we don’t have spaces in any of the other age groups for now.

We are planning to take a Display Team to The Floor – the Gymnastics Ireland team performance event – which is taking place in Dublin on 11/12 June 2022. 

This event last took place in June 2019, below is the link to the performances. This will give you an idea of what is involved. The Floor team performances of 2019 go online! (gymnasticsireland.com)

We are holding tryouts on Monday 14th March 6.00-8.00pm at Salto and would like to invite any of our female gymnasts aged 12 and over to come along. 

Training for the event will take place once or twice a week. I’m still finalising this with the coaches and dance teacher. I will be able to give details by the end of next week. The time slots available in our schedule are as follows:

• Monday 6-8pm
• Thursday 6-8pm
• Saturday 3-5pm

Any of our gymnasts (and some of the current coaches!) who have taken part in this in the past have thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The maximum number on the team will be 20. We would love to see a big turnout at the tryouts!
